A Bear in the Woods

I spent most of yesterday chipping away at this instead of studying. It's about 4x4". I drew the design on the foam with marker and chipped away at it with an exacto knife and a sharp pencil for the delicate areas. I used Golden acrylics - Prussian blue hue, pthalo green (blue and green shades) and rolled them together. Rather pleased with the effect. I printed four of these. The first one had too much paint and looked globby, the second one...just didn't turn out well at all, this is the third one, and the fourth one is similiar to it, but just a wee smudgy. I think next time I will cut the back of the design out so that no little bits of paint will print.

And because I don't like to waste anything, I sprayed the leftover paint with water and used my new brayer to roll the colour onto a heavy sheet of paper. I used a meat tray for the paint, so the brayer picked up this weird circle design. I'll probably use the painted paper for something down the road, naturally, as well as the second print that didn't turn out so good.
