By the title, you were probably expecting something different!

Here's my picture o'the week, when I should have been studying :-D The background is a from a photo I took out of the car window when I went to Banff last week. It was a great day for clouds! Somehow I think I could push the background more "back", but I have layered so much gray into the green already.

This is the drawing that I wanted "Chestnut Sunset" to be - why it didn't turn out and this did, I'm not sure. 11x14", coloured pencil on Bristol paper.

HA!!!!!!! I knew you couldn't put them away for very long. I like this just the way it is. I think if you had pushed the background back the horse would have looked 'alone' if that makes any sense. This has nice balance no neg space (to my eye anyway). *hypnotizes you with pocket watch...."you must paint another"*.

Thanks :-) I wish the sky had come out a little better...I have a sky blue Derwent pencil crayon, and it just doesn't lay smooth at all!
