Artist's Comments

14x17" graphite drawing from a picture I took at Spruce Meadows...I omitted the rider and made a more pleasing background :-)

I wish I could come up with better names. I might as well be like, horse #1, horse #2 or something :-)

I think this is absolutely lovely!

Even if you don't THINK the names are good, atleast the art is still good.
I'm quite jealous, I almost never do backrounds for fear of messing up the animal, but you did a wonderful job!

I cannot pick title names for anything. Sometimes this means others pick the name for me. My painting of butterfly on bush was named "Madame Butterfly." Did not like it, but she was a family friend. Better to name them something you do not like than to have someone stick a name on there that drives you nuts. :typerhappy: Sorry...got off track there.

This is really nice. The value changes on the horse and the way you treated the background really work for you. Great job on this!

Thanks :-) Maybe I should have a kiriban for best title. Usually my pictures are in colour, so I pick the colour plus subject as the name, makes it easy!

Thanks Elina :-) I really do enjoy backgrounds, but I know what you mean - sometimes it's easier to do the background first, or keep it simple as sometimes you can get a halo effect around the subject.
